Sculpture in wood, metal and stone

Handcrafted sculptural works.
Artistic sculpture and custom projects shaped by material, space, and meaning.

Rodolfo Valverde

Rodolfo Valverde is a self-taught sculptor based in Costa Rica, with over 20 years of experience, shaped through craftsmanship, hands-on practice, and an early connection with wood. From the age of 11, he demonstrated a natural ability for manual work, beginning his path in carpentry and masonry, while also exploring painting and construction-related trades. Over time, this practical learning evolved into a solid foundation, allowing him to develop deep mastery of materials and artisanal processes. By adulthood, he had already created hand-carved doors, kitchen and bathroom furniture, parquet flooring installations, and supervised complex woodworking projects, including tables and acrylic-finished surfaces.

On a construction level, he has participated as a builder and coordinator of multiple homes, standing out particularly in the design and execution of roof structures, with a strong chalet-style influence, where wood plays both a structural and aesthetic role. He specializes in fine hardwoods such as cedar, pochote, and cenízaro, and is recognized for exceptional finishes, meticulous detailing, and highly realistic wood carving. Each work reflects technical mastery, artistic sensitivity, and deep respect for the material.
